Winter Wisdom Circle 2025
Exploring Self through The IFS Lens
Internal Family Systems (IFS) Wisdom Circle
An Internal Family Systems Wisdom Circle is a gathering where participants explore the principles of IFS, a therapeutic model developed by Richard Schwartz. This approach views the mind as made up of different “parts,” each with its own perspectives, memories, and roles. The Wisdom Circle aims to create a safe and supportive environment where individuals can engage in self-reflection and deepen their understanding of their internal landscape.
Key Components:
Understanding Parts: Participants learn to identify and connect with their various internal parts—such as the Manager, the Exile, and the Firefighter—and understand how these roles interact.
Self-Leadership: Emphasis is placed on accessing the “Self,” which represents a core, compassionate part of individuals that can lead and heal the other parts.
Safe Space for Sharing: The circle provides a confidential setting for participants to share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings, fostering community and connection.
Facilitated Guidance: Led by an experienced facilitator, including a couple of IFS trained therapists to support you in engaging in exercises and discussions that promote exploration and healing
Benefits of an IFS Wisdom Circle:
Self-Awareness: Participants gain deeper insights into their internal dynamics, leading to greater self-understanding and emotional awareness.
Healing Trauma: Engaging with and healing from past traumas becomes possible as individuals learn to address and support their Exiled parts.
Enhanced Relationships: By understanding their own internal systems, participants can improve their communication and relationships with others, fostering empathy and connection.
Emotional Regulation: Learning to recognize and manage different parts helps individuals develop healthier coping strategies and emotional resilience.
Community Support: The Wisdom Circle cultivates a sense of belonging, reducing feelings of isolation and promoting collective healing through shared experiences.
Empowerment: Participants leave feeling empowered to embrace their whole selves, leading to personal growth and positive change in their lives.
In essence, an IFS Wisdom Circle serves as a powerful space for self-discovery, healing, and connection, enabling individuals to lead more fulfilling and authentic lives.
