As I gracefully embrace aging, I’ve realized the importance of feeling confident both in body and mind. Motivated to maintain strength and health, I sought a fresh approach to exercise, one that wouldn’t let monotony creep in.

Gathering friends, neighbors, and colleagues, I formed a dedicated and accountable exercise group, meeting 3-4X weekly. Now in its fourth year, our diverse community continues to evolve, welcoming new faces of all ages. Together, we’ve found staying power.

I’m encouraged by individuals like yourself, ready to prioritize their health on a larger scale. I seek companions who share a desire for strength and motivation in both body and mind. Each member of our group attests to the transformative power of exercising together, igniting a newfound focus and momentum in our fitness journeys.

Knowledgeable Training Expertise

As a trainer and educator, I come into teaching with enthusiasm, joy, and commitment to feeling good mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

If you are ready, I would be honored to help you get into shape and feel good and better than before. I was a public-school educator for over twenty years, I have a doctorate in education, and for the last thirteen years have been a transformational life coach and personal-development trainer.

I have been committed to health and fitness for all my adult life. Mostly because after getting skin cancer, I realized I wanted to stay here on this planet and feel good and wildly healthy! With the help of a few great coaches and trainers and lots of study and research on my own, I have run marathons, stayed healthy and free of injury, and built strength and muscle. Now, I am stronger and healthier than ever—and I plan to continue getting stronger and more toned and terrific!

Being with others in a supportive group while exercising is so much more fun and inspiring. That’s why community and exercising together is so critical. When you stay accountable to yourself and others you’ll find it easy to form and sustain new habits. As a bonus, in my classes you may meet new friends from around the country and around the world!

My goal is to support you to strengthen and tone your body at whatever stage of life you’re in, with compassion and energetic enthusiasm. I strongly believe that if you practice healthy habits and work out three times a week incorporating strength building you will see positive changes and experience a happier and healthy self. It’s all about taking exquisite care of yourself—and getting and staying toned and feeling terrific. During the days we don’t meet, you can focus on your own workouts, walking, hiking, biking—or just plain resting, also essential to a healthy life. When you are part of a supportive community you may find your views on physical fitness changing, so that it becomes an important part of your lifestyle and who you are. Over time you will have more energy, strength, and stamina for outdoor work, hiking, biking, walking, running, skiing, and a variety of activities you do or may enjoy. One big reason we exercise consistently is so that we can be in enjoy nature and the amazing physical world we live in while in these incredible bodies we inhabit!

Strength Training M-W-F Sessions 8am Pacific/9am Mountain/10am Central/11am Eastern/5pm Europe

Active Stretching (Thursdays), 7am Pacific/8am Mountain/9am Central/10am Eastern/4pm Europe

Classes are up to 50 minutes in length.

I break each class session into three main sections using various types of equipment. I provide modifications along the way.

  1. Arms and upper body
  2. Core: abs and lower back
  3. Legs: glutes, thighs, hamstrings, and calves

Note on equipment: See my gear below for descriptions and links to the equipment I recommend. You can still get a great workout without any of this gear—there are substitutions for everything. However, for a small investment, you can outfit yourself with a few items that will make your workouts more fun and far more effective.When you sign up there is a startup page that has all the gear you might want or need for the class. As well, you will receive a welcome email and receive two weeks free to see if this is a fit for you.

I constantly change the activities and exercises so we don’t get in a rut—and to keep it interesting! Good for our brain, keeps muscle memory from becoming automated, and keeps you present and focused!

1) Mondays, using dumbbells for arms, legs, and core.

2) Wednesdays, Isometric band exercises, body weight, and cardio exercises. You will be breathing!

3) NEW! Thursdays, we focus on specific muscle groups (one week upper and next week lower), core, and stretches

4) Fridays, focus on heavier weights using less reps, Super sets,  and sliders

All classes are live on Zoom. When you sign up, you will receive an email with the Zoom information.

Each class is recorded and will be available for you to view any time when you join our Exercise for Health community. You can now access many months of recorded videos. Even if you can’t make a session, you can just click on the class you missed and join in to stay focused on feeling toned and terrific. 

Each class will either be live, or you can choose a recording if you cannot make it. Although I am totally committed to this community, there will be a few times a year when I cannot make it for the live class. I’ll let you know in advance and provide a recorded workout. I’ve got your back and our health is my priority!
